I knew that February was Black History Month, but I didn't know that for the past 32 years there was a parade in Orange County honoring the event.

This Saturday beginning at 10 AM, the 32nd Annual Orange County Black History Parade and Cultural Fair will take place in downtown Anaheim. Starting on Anaheim Boulevard, the parade ends at the Center Street Promenade where there will be a cultural fair with food, booths, and entertainment.

Sponsored by the Orange County Heritage Council, president  DeVera Heard explains, "Part of our mission is to educate everybody – all ethnicities – about the value and contributions of African Americans, not only in Orange County but throughout history."

Admission and parking is free.
