Is There Some Kind of Game on Today?

Amongst all the football Madonna's performing!

I admit it, I am not a football person. But with all the hype of the Super Bowl that's been going on lately (even I'm excited about Madonna), I thought I would list places to watch the game in cities all over Orange County. I know there's tons more, and a lot of people plan to stay home and watch, but just in case you got the itch to go out and watch with a crowd, here are some ideas.

Aliso Viejo
(from Aliso Viejo Patch)
Timeout Tavern
Enjoy the big game on 25 big screen TVs. The event begins at 3 p.m. Stay late after the game for music and dancing.

Stadium Brewing Company
Enjoy a variety of home brews for the big game. Large flat screen TVs are in easy view at the bar and in the dining area at this Town Center favorite.

Renaissance ClubSport
This Super Bowl party runs from 1 to 6 p.m. and includes a buffet of whole roasted pig, carnitas tacos, rice beans, stuffed Jalapenos, chips and salsa, salad bar and build your own sliders. Drink specials include $10 draft pitchers, $3 drafts and well drinks for $5. Reservations are not required, all ages welcome. Members and Non-Members get into the event for free. The buffet, which includes a Bud Light drink ticket, costs $24.99.

Fountain Valley (from Fountain Valley Patch)
Silky Sullivan's
The legendary sports bar will be holding its 28th Annual Super Bowl bash this year with some great giveaways and very affordable food and drink prices. The first 100 people at Silky's can sign up for the free Super Bowl pool. Shirts, movie tickets and other items will be given away each time the score changes.

Ed’s Stumble Inn
This sports bar with the unique name will feature a special cuisine in honor of the two Super Bowl teams. There also will be giveaways every quarter. Ed’s has six flat screens and three regular TVs, and pool is always free.

Fountain Bowl
Ozzie’s Football Party will be held at the bowling alley’s bar, but get there early because capacity is only 50. The party starts at 3 p.m. and the cost is $10 per person. There also will be a chili cook-off contest, so bring your best chili to compete again the others. Prizes will be given away throughout the game.

Laguna Beach (from Laguna Beach Patch)
The Deck on Laguna Beach (at Pacific Edge Hotel)
The Deck is a new player on the Super Bowl party scene, having only opened last summer. They're going for a theme approach, serving up New England-style lobster (or is it "lobstah?") rolls and New York-style hot dogs along with Kobe beef and braised pork sliders, chef's special recipe hot wings, and more.

Hennessey's Tavern
There's gonna be an afternoon of cheap beer and gourmet food at the Tavern this Sunday. Raffle prizes will be awarded, with the grand prize of a night for two at the Pacific Edge Hotel. The game will be shown on seven flatscreen TVs—their biggest is 50 inches, and they have several 42-inchers as well. Manager Dan will be there, rooting "against the Patriots."

House of Big Fish & Ice Cold Beer
There'll be a big fat party at the House of Big Fish this Sunday. Doors open at 10:30 a.m., drinks will be cheap, and food will be cheaper—you can eat and drink your fill on $20 or less while watching the game on seven 55-inch HD TVs. Over 70 different beers will be provided to get you good and excited for the raffle prizes of food gift certificates and hotel stays at La Casa Del Camino and others!

Lake Forest (from Lake Forest Patch)
Bigshots Billiards Bar & Grill
During the game, specials include $1 hot dogs, pizza slices and tacos; $3 chili cheese nachos, well drinks and drafts. In addition to 10 flat screen TVs, the bar has 13 pool tables and dart boards. All ages welcome.

Boscoe's Sports Grill
Drink specials and raffles throughout the game, including $3 Bloody Marys and screwdrivers. Wear your team's jersey for $1 off beers.

Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar
Drink specials and raffles throughout the game, including half-price appetizers after halftime.

Mission Viejo (from Mission Viejo Patch)
Oggi's Pizza and Brewing
Oggi's is one of the few proper sports bars in Mission Viejo. Lots of parking both in the lot and on the street are available for sports fans. Expect wall-to-wall televisions with the big game on each screen.

Norman P. Murray Senior and Community Center
The city is throwing its own Super Bowl party at the community center. There will be a tailgate party, then snacks served during the game.

Tijuana Gillies
One of the friendliest bars in town, Tijuana Gillies is a cheap place to get a drink and some chips and salsa. There's T.V., too.

Rancho Santa Margarita (from Rancho Santa Margarita Patch)
Daily's Sports Grill
The joint is owned by a former championship winning football coach, Jim Barnett, what else do you need to know?

Friends Sports Tavern
With 27 televisions, you won't have any trouble seeing the action.

BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse
The new restaurant celebrates its first Super Bowl since opening. You should be able to watch the game and be aloof at the same time.
