Huntington Beach resident Nicole Townend recently appeared on an episode of "Shark Tank" (image via ABC) |
This year has started off famously for Orange County – and it’s in a positive way for a change.
A recent episode of “Shark Tank” featured Huntington Beach entrepreneur Nicole Townend, who walked away with a deal from Mark Cuban for her product.
Called Teddy Needs a Bath, the cloth bag designed for washing stuffed toys drew the interest of Cuban, who ended up agreeing to pay $100,000 for 30 percent of the company and a 10 percent royalty up to $100,000 (read here for the modified deal that happened after the show).
With interest and orders coming in, Townend was extremely pleased with the results of her appearance on the show, explaining, “They say ‘Shark Tank’ grows your business 30 percent but it is significantly higher for me.”
Irvine Bakery Featured on Travel Channel Show
A while back I talked about 85˚C Bakery and how it’s one of the most popular places in Irvine that almost always has a line going out the door. Well, apparently, its popularity has reached the ears of the Travel Channel and the bakery was featured on a recent episode of “Fast Foods Gone Global.”
You can stalk the Travel Channel’s program guide to see if
you can catch the episode, or you can thank Edwin Goei over at OC Weekly who
first wrote about the sighting and included the segment, shown below.A while back I talked about 85˚C Bakery and how it’s one of the most popular places in Irvine that almost always has a line going out the door.
