Saturday is the Artisan Food & Arts Festival at the Great Park in Irvine: learn to cook, bake, and grow good food (image via Facebook) |
In
an effort to inspire living sustainably and creatively, the festival will have
ongoing arts activities as well as demonstrations. Beginning at 11 am, artisans
will be teaching visitors how to make your own bread, soda, cheese, and jam,
among other things. You can also learn about refrigerator pickling, composting
and backyard bees.
But
the biggest attraction that caught my eye was the amount of food that was going
to be on-hand: along with some of the best known food trucks, (Seabirds and
The Lime Truck to name a couple), there will also be participating restaurants
such as Duke’s, Clay Oven, Taco Asylum and 118 Degrees.
