You can say a lot of things about living in Orange County ,
except that there’s nothing to do on the weekends. Here’s a random sampling
of the events going on today.

The Swallows will be coming home and the city is going to
celebrate with their now legendary Swallows' Day Parade that take place on
Saturday. It marks the end of a month of celebrations known as the Swallows
Festival (or Fiesta de las Golondrinas). The festivities celebrate the swallows
that migrate to San Juan Capistrano
in the spring and summer.
The parade starts at 11 am on El Camino Real at Ortega Highway ,
runs along Del Obispo Street
to Camino Capistrano, and continues the Mission San Juan Capistrano.
There will also be a Mercado Street Fair that runs from 9 am
to 5 pm.
Be prepared for crowds (40,000 are expected to attend!), there’s a shuttle service being
offered from 8 am to 5:45 pm for people who park at the Rancho Viejo Road lot
or the San Juan Capistrano Community Center. It’s $2 for adults, and free for
children 12 and younger. For more information, visit the website for the event.

join online via the club’s FB page. Your 15 minutes of fame (or 30 if you’re a
band) will be recorded and uploaded to Facebook. It might be fun to check out
