Beginning today, the eclectic mix of restaurants that exists in Orange County will be offering their best dishes at discounted rates for all of us foodies to sample.
This year, Orange County Restaurant Week will have 100 places to choose from for a 3-course, prix fixe menu (set price and dish selection) that range from $10 $15, and $20 per person for lunch, and $20, $30 or $40 per person for dinner.
You don't have to buy any kind of tickets to participate, although the website for Orange County Restaurant Week recommends calling for reservations. You can also visit the site for the complete list of participating restaurants, but thanks to the Orange County Register, here's a sampling of some of the top choices, based on selection and pricing:
Enchiladas from Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen (image via Cha Cha's website) |
First of all, I can't believe there's a place called Cha Cha's Latin Kitchen and I've never been to it, but this Brea-based restaurant will be offering a three-course, $15 lunch with the options of enchiladas, salmon, roasted chicken, carnitas or tacos. They also have award-winning Margaritas for $5!

Where else could you find soul food but in Santa Ana? For $15, you can have a 3-course lunch with options ranging from a barbecued duck quesadilla (okay, maybe that's not traditional soul food), buttermilk fried chicken, to be topped off with a bourbon pecan tart.

Three Seventy Common
Described by OC Register as a "relaxed and modern menu", Three Seventy Common in Laguna Beach offers a $30 dinner menu that includes three courses. Have your choice of black cod, steak salad, or Parmesan risotto for a second course, follow it up with Grandma B's chocolate cake, or chocolate banana bread pudding.

For $20, you can get a 3-course lunch with dishes ranging from homemade soft pretzels for a starter, and a choice of fish and chips, a grilled sirloin burger or a margarita flatbread for the second course. Top it off with two scoops of house-made ice cream or some chocolate ganache and lunch in Huntington Beach is complete.
