Take a trip to Santa Ana tonight for music, food and art (image via Sunset.com) |
Starting at 7 p.m., the event is a literal block party, and in addition to its four blocks includes the newly renovated East End Promenade.
It's about a block over, but seems like it would be worth the walk to see how the area has been renovated into what the Promenade is calling "the future of Downtown Santa Ana as it continues to grow and develop as the cultural epicenter of Orange County."
Another additional feature this month will be an altar made to honor the memory of Kelly Thomas, whose recent death at the hands of the police in Fullerton has caused controversy. For more information, there's a great article on OCWeekly.com that interviews the artist who created the piece.
The event begins at the 2nd Street Promenade from Broadway Avenue to Spurgeon Street. A map of the participating locations can be downloaded here.
Covered parking is available just a block away, at the Artists Village parking structure at Third Street and Broadway, for $2.
