Spending Where it Counts: Shop the Anti-Mall

If you love arts and crafts to dress up your home, yourself, or to give as gifts, this Saturday there's going to be an Anti-Mall event in Santa Ana. A grassroots project, the Anti-Mall: People b4 Profit will feature over 30 vendors selling a variety of items, as well as music, poetry and food.



Here's a partial rundown of the kind of stuff to expect, and the people making them:

Produced by 'El Puente...hacia la esperanza' and El Centro Cultural de Mexico, the mission of the Anti-Mall is "to provide a space for the ARTivist, Performers & Conscious consumers to come together and invest their money, time and energy into putting PEOPLE b4 Profit."

Their mission goes on to explain, "The Anti-Mall serves to connect consumers with products that fit their political, moral and spiritual ideals...We need more places to recycle and invest our money into artivist, cooperatives, businesses and projects that are truly committed to a more just economy, where workers and consumers are treated with respect and dignity."

The event takes place on Saturday, February 11th from 11 am to 6 pm on Birch St. in Santa Ana. Admission is free.
